We are so proud of Cate Collenette who represented Ireland at the Dance World Cup in Braga, Portugal over the Summer. Cate is a member of our ITW Dance Company and takes Advanced Jazz, Ballet and Pointe, Lyrical Contemporary, has one on one classes with ITW Dance Coach Charley White and trains with the Elite Team at ITW Studios every week.
We are so grateful for the opportunity she had to dance on this world stage and would like to thank Dance World Ireland for their kind and generous sponsorship.
I loved my experience in Braga at the Dance World Cup (DWC). It was a once in a life time experience, and was such a great opportunity to represent my country in something so fun and different, and also in something that I completely adore.

The atmosphere in Braga was amazing. It was really lovely to meet people from so many countries, from all over the world. It is the second largest International competitive event after the Summer Olympic Games!
All the countries were so talented at all dance styles, and especially at their own traditional dance styles. Seeing everyone in their National Costumes was brilliant.
The best thing for me, about the DWC, was the overall incredible energy…. the smiles, the laughter, the dancing, the amazing jumping, the singing and the skipping! Everyone was just so happy to be there, and so was I!
Seeing the standard there has encouraged me to work harder in my ITW classes because I would LOVE to go again next year, and fingers crossed, next time it will be with an ITW team.
